At least 41 people have been killed after a boat sank on the coast of Tunisia

Web Desk. A boat sank on the coast of Tunisia, killing at least 41 people who were trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Tunisia to Italy when their boat capsized.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) confirmed the incident and said, it had received reports of the boat sinking in southeastern Tunisia.

Tunisia’s National Coast Guard says a child was among those drowned. The bodies of all the people have been recovered while the National Guard has rescued three people in the incident.

According to media reports, 39 refugees from the same city were killed in a boat sinking last month, while a similar accident took place in June last year in which 60 people were killed in a boat sinking.
