British type of Corona 32% more contagious: Research

Web Desk. Coronavirus type B.1.1.7, discovered in the UK last year, is 1.32 times more contagious than the original virus. This was discovered in a new medical study in Japan.

A study by the National Institute of Infectious Diseases compared 803 British cases of corona with research reports from overseas. The results showed that the British type of corona infects 45 to 90% more people than the original virus.

The study found that a person infected with the British coronavirus transmitted the virus to an average of 1.23 people, compared to 0.94 in the original virus. The study warns that this type of virus is more powerful and that current measures to prevent it may be insufficient.

The study also found that people under the age of 18 were significantly more likely to be infected with this virus than those who were infected with the original virus. Earlier in March, a study published in the Medical Journal BMJ found that the British variety of corona was 64% more lethal than older varieties.

The combined study by the Universities of Bristol, Lancashire, Warwick, and Exeter compared the 54,000 patients infected with the British coronavirus between October 1, 2020, and January 29, 2021, with the same number of original virus cases.

They took into account factors such as age, gender, race, region, and social status to ensure that no one else was the cause of death. This is the first study published in a Medical Journal to determine the death rate from British-type of Corona.

The researchers found that the original type Corona’s mortality rate was 2.5 per thousand. But in the British category, the rate rose to 4.1 per 1,000, up 64%. The researchers said that this new type of Corona could not only spread faster but also look more deadly.

The reasons for the increase in mortality as a result of this new type have not been fully elucidated. However, some evidence in recent months suggests that people infected with B1.1.7 have a higher viral load, which may not only cause the virus to spread more rapidly but also potentially increase the effectiveness of certain therapies.

The new type of corona first appeared in the UK in September and was discovered in December 2020. This type of corona has reached dozens of countries so far. In the United States, it is spreading 35 to 45 percent more easily than other types.

The biggest threat from this new corona is its rapid spread, with an estimated 30 to 50 percent more contagious than the old corona, but some scientists believe the rate could be higher.
