The chicken Shami kabab/kebab recipe is very famous in the Pakistan and Indian subcontinent. When it comes to starters or Chicken Rice Pulao, Chicken Shami Kabab is one of the best to be served. Chicken Shami Kabab is a Pakistani style kabab where cooked chicken is combined with lentils (Chana dal) and spices, round-shaped into a patty and shallow fried. ⦿ Boneless chicken, 500gm
⦿ Chana dal, 1 Cup
⦿ Chopped onion, 1
⦿Green chilies, 7
⦿ Green coriander, 2 tbsp
⦿ Garlic paste, 1 tbsp
⦿ Ginger Paste, 1 tbsp
⦿ Chili flakes, 2 tbsp
⦿ Coriander powder, 1 tsp
⦿ Black pepper powder, 1 tsp
⦿ Hot spices powder, 1 tbsp
⦿ Cumin crushed, 1 tsp
⦿ Cinnamon, 1 piece
⦿ Black cardamom, 1 piece
⦿ Salt, 1 tsp
⦿ Water, 4 cup
⦿ Egg for fry, 1
⦿ Oil as required
⦾ Wash and soak chana dal for 2 to 3 hours.
⦾ In a pan add soaked chana dal and add 4 cups of water and stir for 2 min.
⦾ Now add in chili flakes, coriander powder, hot spices&black pepper powder, salt, garlic&ginger paste.
⦾ Add in onion, cinnamon, black cardamom, and boneless chicken.
⦾ Mix and lid on for 10 to 15 minutes.
⦾ Remove the lid and add cumin crashed and cook until chana dal and chicken are soft-cooked.
⦾ Remove from heat and let the mixture cool down.
⦾ Chop green chilies and green coriander in the chopper.
⦾ Now add the chana dal and chicken mixture into the chopper and chopped into a thick paste.
⦾ Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into a flat round kabab shape.
⦾ Heat oil for shallow frying in a pan and beat the egg in a bowl.
⦾ Now dip kabab in egg and fry in a pan.
⦾ One by one fry all kabab and fry till both sides are golden brown.
⦿ Serve chicken Shami kabab with the Chutney/Sauce or Ketchup.
