Corona cases and deaths rise in Pakistan

Web Desk. The third wave of coronavirus has killed 126 more people in Pakistan and 3,265 new cases have been reported. According to data released on Thursday by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), an organization for the prevention of coronavirus, 39,101 tests were performed in the last 24 hours.

According to the NCOC’s tweet, the positive rate of Corona cases was 8.35% and 3265 new cases came to light. According to the statement, 126 people were killed in the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to more than 100 for the third day in a row.

A day earlier, 104 people had been killed and 2,869 new cases had been reported. Due to the deteriorating Coronavirus situation in the country, strict business and travel restrictions have been imposed from May 10 to May 15.

The NCOC said in a statement on Friday that educational institutions would now remain closed until May 23 instead of May 17 and that the decision would be reviewed on May 18.

On the other hand, a vaccination campaign is underway in the country in which people over the age of 40 are being vaccinated against corona.

Last week, Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Health, said in a video that “100 million people in Pakistan are eligible for vaccination. 70 million people want to be vaccinated by the end of this year.

Referring to the Corona vaccine, Dr. Faisal Sultan had said that “the government has so far agreed to buy 30 million doses of the vaccine.” About 90 percent of these doses will be procured, while 19 million doses of the vaccine are expected to reach Pakistan by June.
