Dahi Baray Recipe or Dahi Baray Chaat Recipe is a very popular street food in Pakistan and India and it’s easily available in almost every area. In the Indian subcontinent, Dahi Baray is also known by names like Dahi Vada or Dahi Bara. Dahi Baray mostly uses as a snack or side dish. Dahi Baray is a very easy and simple recipe is made of gram flour fritters and yogurt sauce.
⦿ Moong dal – 1 cup
⦿ Daal mash – 1/2 cup
⦿ Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp
⦿ Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
⦿ Tomato – 1
⦿ Onion – Half
⦿ Boiled potato – 1
⦿ Green coriander – 2 tbsp
⦿ Green chili – 4
⦿ Red chili – 1 pinch
⦿ Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
⦿ Baking soda – 1 tsp
⦿ Tamarind sauce – 3 tbsp
⦿ Mint sauce – 3 tbsp
⦿ Papdi – 2 Pieces
⦿ Yogurt – 1 Cup
⦿ Salt As Required
⦿ Oil As Required for Fry
⦾ Wash and soak lentils for 3 to 4 hours.
⦾ Drain the soaked lentils and add in a blender together with green chili, green coriander, ginger&garlic paste, and water.
⦾ Blend into a smooth batter and transfer in a bowl and add baking soda.
⦾ Heat oil in a pan, Once the oil heats up drop the batter with a spoon into the oil.
⦾ Fry them until golden on both sides.
⦾ Soak the baray in lukewarm water for 15 minutes.
⦾ Beat the yogurt adding a little water to a paste.
⦾ Now take out the baray from water and gently press it between your palm to squeeze out excess water.
⦾ Place baray into the dish and pour the yogurt.
⦾ Add in boil potato, onion, tomato, green chili, and chaat masala.
⦾ Sprinkle some paper.
⦾ Dahi Baray is ready, Serve with tamarind sauce and mint sauce. Enjoy it!
