Facebook froze the President’s page over misinformation about COVID-19 treatment

Web Desk. Facebook freezes the Venezuelan President’s page over wrongful Coronavirus treatment suggestions. According to the British news agency Reuters report, Facebook says that false information about Corona’s treatment was shared on the Venezuelan President’s Facebook page.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has described a drug as a cure for the coronavirus, which doctors claim is not a cure for corona. Facebook says the Venezuelan President’s account has been frozen for violating our policy.

The Facebook spokesperson talks with Reuters: we follow the World Health Organization’s (WHO) instruction that there is currently no cure for the virus and that due to persistent breach of our laws, we are freezing the President page for 30 days.

The frozen page will be able to read-only but not able to share any post. According to Venezuelan COVID-19 official figures, there are 155,000 coronavirus patients in the country, and 1,543 people have has lost their life.
