Web Desk. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan attended a global concert in which he was accompanied by other notable names like Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, Jimmy Kimmel, Sean Penn, and David Letterman.
The concert aired on Saturday. The Global Citizen Fundraising Concert was aimed at highlighting the importance of the equitable distribution of vaccines. According to the Associated Press, it has raised $302 million, more than the campaign estimates.
Hosted by Selena Gomez, the show was attended by thousands of spectators who have completed the vaccine course, in addition to Big B. During this time they enjoyed a variety of interesting segments, with Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, and Lopez performing.
Lopez performed a couple of songs with his mother. The program was recorded earlier this month but aired on Saturday evening. Amitabh Bachchan had said in reference to the program that his participation in the show is an honor for him and he will fight for India.

He said, “Hello, I am Amitabh Bachchan, my country is fighting the second wave of Corona.” As a global citizen, I urge the world to stand up, talk to your governments, contact pharmaceutical companies and ask them to donate, open your hands to those who need you.
“He also said that “every effort is important, as Mahatma Gandhi said you can shake the world slowly, thank you very much.”
The program also emphasized the importance of providing equal access to vaccines. On Saturday, Big B wrote in a long post about how celebrities are being criticized for not playing their part in difficult times.
He said he and his family had received inappropriate comments on social media. He mentioned in his long blog the relief work done by him.
Politician Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted on Saturday thanking Amitabh Bachchan for helping Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. He also wrote that Amitabh had donated Rs 20 million (272,525) for his efforts to save Corona.
