Web Desk. WhatsApp is working on a new feature called ‘Password Protection’, which will also save and protect users’ backup chats. According to WABetaInfo, this step is being taken by WhatsApp to protect its cloud backup.
Although WhatsApp chats are confidential between the sender and the recipient and no one else can see them, but users’ chats do not get this protection in secure online backups on Google Drive and iCloud.
In view of this error, WhatsApp has started working on this feature called ‘Password Protection’. This feature will be available for Android and iOS device users.
As previously announced, @WhatsApp is working on cloud backups encryption.
The chat database and media will be safe from unauthorized access when using a password. The password is private and it's not sent to WhatsApp.
It will be available in a future build for iOS and Android. pic.twitter.com/Lp06PaECBX

In this regard, the WhatsApp administration says that this feature will allow users to set a password to prevent unauthorized access to their iCloud Drive backup, which will be used to secure future backups. Users will then need this password whenever they restore backup chats.
