These Vegetable Spring Rolls are a popular Chinese snack filled with mixed vegetable stuffing. The crispy vegetable spring rolls are very easy to prepare and perfect as a snack. Veg spring rolls are crispy on the outside, not greasy and so flavorful on the inside. Step-by-step recipe features and wrapping tips are included in the article and video.
⦿ Shredded cabbage – 2 cups
⦿ Capsicum julienned – 1 cup
⦿ julienned carrot -1 cup
⦿ Spring onions – 1 cup
⦿ Chopped garlic – 1 tbsp
⦿ Oil – 2/3 tbsp
⦿ Sugar – 1.5 tsp
⦿ Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
⦿ Pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
⦿ Chicken powder or cubes – 1 piece
⦿ White chili powder – 1 tsp
⦿ Soy sauce – 1.5 tbsp
⦿ Chilli sauce – 1.5 tbsp
⦿ Corn starch – 1.5 tbsp
⦿ Water – 2 tbsp
⦿ Salt as required
⦿ Maida flour – 2 tbsp
⦾ Heat oil in a pan, add chopped garlic paste.
⦾ Add the cabbage, capsicum, carrots, spring onions, and mix.
⦾ Now add in salt, black pepper powder, white chili powder, chili flakes, sugar, chicken cubes, soy sauce, chili sauce, and mix well.
⦾ Add corn starch and fry all the vegetables for 5 minutes.
⦾ Turn off the flame and allow it to cool.
⦾ In a small bowl add maida and 2 tbsp water to form a slurry.
⦾ Spread one roll sheet and place a spoonful of the vegetable mixture into a corner of the sheet and roll the sheet, paint the top with maida mixture to seal it.
⦾ Heat oil in a pan, place the spring rolls in oil and fry them till both sides are golden brown.
⦾ Serve hot with the chili sauce.
